Whilst performing flight AC3 from Vancouver to Tokyo Narita, the aircraft was enroute at Flight Level 360 over the Gulf of Alaska approx. 850nm northwest of Vancouver and about 350nm southeast of Anchorage when the crew declared PAN reporting a possible hydraulic leak and decided to return to Vancouver. The aircraft descended to Flight level 350, dumped fuel on the way back and landed safely on Vancouver's runway 08R about 2 hours later.\r\n\r\the CTSB reported maintenance needed to tighten the left hand system's hydraulic return line of the right hand flaperon power control unit. |
