Kenya AirwaysDuring flight KQ-100 From Nairobi to London Heathrow, the aircraft was descending upon final approach at 1540, at around 3,500 ft, travelling at around 250mph and approx. 13 miles from the airport when the crew lowered the landing gear. Unknown to the crew a Stowaway had climbed into the left-hand main gear bay and it is a very strong possibility he had passed away during the nine-hour flight from the extreme cold and lack of oxygen. It is reported the body was covered in ice. The body fell from the aircraft and landed in a garden. Video footage has been released of the incident which shows the incident aircraft but due to poor quality it did not show the incident itself. A Kenyan Airlines representative has said ?It is unfortunate that a person has lost his life by stowing away in one of our aircraft and we express our condolences.? The aircraft is currently grounded pending checks to the landing gear and gear bay.
